Billing & Credits FAQ

How are credits calculated?

1 credit = 1 document × 1 classification system × up to 5 ranked results. If you request more than 5 results, credits are charged in blocks of 5.

Examples:

  • 1–5 results → 1 credit
  • 6–10 results → 2 credits
  • 11–15 results → 3 credits

What counts as a document?

A single text input, a single uploaded file, or one row in a bulk CSV/XML/JSON file.

Do different taxonomies cost more?

No. All taxonomies cost the same.

What if I classify into multiple taxonomies?

Credits are charged per taxonomy.

Example: 1 document × 3 taxonomies × 5 results each → 3 credits

Do credits reset each month?

Yes. Included subscription credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over.

Do free credits reset each month?

Yes. Free plan includes 10,000 credits/month that reset monthly.

What happens if I run out of credits?

Requests will fail with an INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS error until you recharge or upgrade your plan.

Can I buy extra credits mid-month?

Yes. You can purchase recharge blocks (top-ups) at your plan's CPM rate.

Do recharge credits expire?

Yes. Recharge credits expire 30 days after purchase and do not reset with your monthly subscription.

How much can I recharge?

Recharge credits are capped at up to 100% of your plan's monthly included credits per billing cycle. For larger usage, upgrade to a higher plan.

Is there an annual commitment?

Only for the Enterprise plan.

How is Enterprise billed?

Enterprise requires an annual commitment:

  • 50% of annual contract value due upfront
  • Remaining balance billed monthly (or per contract terms)

Can I change plans?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Changes take effect on the next billing period unless otherwise arranged.
